ARITON, Ala. (WTVY) -- Ariton High School seniors were honored one last time at Ariton High School Thursday.

Nearly all 66 seniors from the class, drove thru the school line to pick up their cap and gown.

They also received a bag of items from local churches, any awards they earned and a virtual honors slide show to remember the 2020 class were presented.

The parade was a way to congratulate the class and a sense of closure for teachers as principal Joshua Herring described it.

"For our students to be able to see them one more time in this setting and to be congratulated I know we can't do it by hugging and shaking hands but we can do it by showing our love and I think we had every faculty and staff member on contract was here today," said Joshua Herring, Principal of Ariton Schools.

Ariton is scheduled to have a two-part graduation ceremony at the Ozark Civic Center on June 11th.
