Fans of "To Kill a Mockingbird" are upset over author Harper Lee's sequel, and the book hasn't even hit shelves yet.
"Go Set a Watchman" will be released Tuesday, 55 years after Mockingbird was first published.
The book reportedly portrays Atticus Finch, the moral hero of the original, as a racist. Word of this portrayal is causing some fans to dismiss Watchman.
But others note that, like Mockingbird, Watchman is set in a small Alabama town before the Civil Rights era and that Atticus is complicated.
Lee finished "Go Set a Watchman" in the 1950s. The manuscript was rediscovered last year.
