First Speakers Announced for U.S.-China Business Symposium

DOTHAN, AL -- A preliminary list of speakers has been released for the upcoming U.S.-China Business Symposium. Some of the biggest names in international trade will appear in Dothan from March 26-28 at the Dothan Civic Center.

Some of the early speakers announced include Wu Jihua, the Secretary of the Dailian Xigang District Committee of the Communist Party of China. Secretary Wu will be the highest ranking Chinese government official to appear in Dothan.

Other big names from China include Ronnie Chan, co-chair of the Aisa Society, Lili Zheng, co-leader of Deloitte Asia Pacific ICE and Loretta Lee, the owner of one of the world's largest boot manufacturers.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is slated to speak during the event, as well as Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield.

Others appearing at the Symposium include former U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez, Sidney Rittenberg, one of the world's foremost authorities on U.S.-Chinese relations and Mark Stevens, a partner with WIPFLI and Spider Logic.

More speakers will be announced at a later date. The upcoming symposium will bring U.S. and Chinese business and government leaders face-to-face to openly discuss the future of manufacturing, industry expansion and job creation.
