Tragedy unfolded Sunday night in Houston County where police say a man killed two people before taking his own life.
43-year-old Mary Alice Joyner and 33-year-old Jeffery Brett Swisher, both of Cottonwood, were found shot to death in a home on Zachary Road.
Investigators say the suspect, 45-year-old Christopher Joyner, broke into the home around 11 p.m. They say after he killed Mary Alice Joyner and Swisher, he turned the gun on himself.
74-year-old Alice Carole Swisher survived the shooting. She is in critical condition.
Houston Co. Sheriff Donald Valenza says the shooting may have been domestic between Mary Alice Joyner and Christopher Joyner. The Swishers were visiting Mary Alice Joyner at the time of the break-in.
Records show a protective order was taken out against Christopher Joyner in February. The order was served on March 10th. His bond was revoked three days later.
