After taking a 40-32 halftime lead, Person proceeded to hit a 3-pointer just 15 seconds into the second half. South Alabama (11-12, 4-6) went on a run to cut the lead to four three minutes later, but Troy immediately answered back with an 8-2 spurt in the ensuing three minutes.

The unheralded star of the night was Kevin Baker as the guard came off the bench to notch the first double-double of his Troy career with 11 points and 10 rebounds. He also pitched in five assists, which marked the seventh time this season the senior has had five or more assists.
