DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Michael Sullivan has always dreamed of attending West Point. Well, that dream is coming true.
The Providence Christian senior has been accepted to the prestigious academy and as an added bonus, Sullivan will be a member of the school's sprint football team.
Sprint football is similar to traditional football except the athlete's cannot weigh more than 178 pounds.
Sullivan weighed in Friday at 177.
Sully, as he is known as by teammates and coaches, is thrilled at the opportunity to not just play football but to serve his country.
"I've loved football since I was a kid just as I've wanted to go to West Point, said Sullivan. "So putting those two things together is just amazing. I love to help people and to help the greatest country in the world, it's such an honor."
