Northside Methodist Academy will join the AHSAA next season and the football team will have a new place to call home on Friday nights.

After utilizing Ashford Academy's old field the last few seasons, the Knights will now play home games at Rip Hewes Stadium.

The knights aren't unfamiliar to Rip Hewes. They played once there back in 2017.

In order to not to conflict with the Dothan Wolves schedule, the Knights will play some Thursday night games on weeks where Dothan is at home.

A new home hasn't changed the knights mentality heading into the season.

"Winning games is absolutely a part of how we measure success," said head coach Jason Hurst. "We're not looking for any participation trophies in 2020. We're expecting to go in and be immediately competitive and immediately win football games."

Former Samson head football coach Greg Ennis was also introduced as the Knights new defensive coordinator. Ennis is a longtime veteran in the coaching ranks including assistant coaching roles at Geneva, Opp, and Carroll.
