DOTHAN Coming into Thursday, the Ashford boys basketball team needed one region win to be crowned Class 4A Area 4 Regular Season champions, and clinch home court throughout the area tournament. Behind 29 points from Campbell Basketball signee LaDarius Knight, the Yellowjackets did just that, beating Bullock County 66-62.

"Feels good. back to back," said Ashford head coach Chase Lewis.
"You know our second chance hosting this area tournament. We needed this because we didn't want to make that trip to Bullock County. It is a long trip."

"Feels great to be able to host another one," said guard LaDarius Knight. "Because last time we hosted we didn't win and all I really care about it winning another are championship."

Down the road, Houston County's girls were hosting Pleasant Home and the #32 player in the class of 2019 River Baldwin.

Baldwin, the Florida State basketball commit tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Lady Eagles to a 46-33 win.

Ashanty Rivers led Houston County with 13 points.

Houston County: 75

Houston County wins the Class 1A Area 2 Regular Season title.
Zydarian Brown led the way for the Lions with 31 points, while Quadarius Peterson and Barkevion Saffold each had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
