The coaching carousel continues to turn down in the Wiregrass.

After four seasons of leading the Cottonwood Bears program, John Gilmore is stepping down as the Bears head coach.

Gilmore has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Smiths Station in east Alabama. He confirmed that news to WTVY this afternoon.

In his four seasons at Cottonwood, Gilmore went 13-27 including a 3-7 record this past season.

When asked about the opportunity to join the Panthers staff, Gilmore said he's excited and ready to compete in class 7A.
