Former Brantley Softball Star Alex Wilcox Passes Away From Ovarian Cancer

(WTVY) — Former Brantley softball star Alex Wilcox passed away after battling ovarian cancer. She was 18.

The Brantley native most recently played for Mississippi State during the 2017 season.

While in High School, Wilcox helped the Bulldogs win three consecutive state titles in 2014 - 2016.

Following the news, the MSU softball team tweeted "Our hearts are heavy as we lost Alex Wilcox tonight after her long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She did not lose her battle, but fought every day with a bright smile and inspired all that knew her story. #NoOneFightsAlone"
