On Saturday some former Alabama football players came together in Daphne, Alabama to put on a kids camp to help teach the fundamentals of the game. I was there on Saturday and it seemed as if everywhere I turned there was another Crimson Tide Star.
Everywhere you look another Crimson Tide star was out at the 2nd annual Daphne kids camp. Hosted by four N.F.L. stars who played their high school ball together at Daphne High School where they won a state title. Their goal of this camp…. to give back to the community and letting the kids meet these N.F.L. stars without their pads and helmet on.
"The kids get to see a different side of us that they don't get to see when we are playing football on TV. So you know this day is just dedicated when we have a few hours with these kids and we are going to interact with them. We're going to give them all we got today,” said Ryan Anderson.
"Oh it is amazing the guys that stick you know I got here went to high school won a championship and I got a couple guys we went to Alabama won a national championship. It's always good to have those guys to be around to be able to come around and help us out,” said TJ Yedon.
Not only were the core high school teammates at the camp, but a pair of Alabama national champions came out to show support as well. 2015 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Reggie Ragland and 2018 first round pick by the Washington redskins Daron Payne.
"It is just cool to be out there with the guys and just give back to the community….and just do good things like this in the community,” said Payne.
