City of Enterprise holds Lee County Tornado Relief Drive

ENTERPRISE, Al. (WTVY) - If you missed out on opportunities to help those affected by Alabama tornadoes- here’s another chance. This weekend the City of Enterprise is helping those in Lee County.

Lining the walls of a 40 foot trailer are cleaning supplies, food, and daily essentials - all ready to be shipped to Lee County..

The Enterprise community is coming together to do what they say is the right thing.

"We know what they are going through, when we were at the lowest points in our city's history people came to our aid and rescue the least we can do is return the favor not that it's a favor or that we have to but because we want to," said Jason Wright, Communications for Enterprise.

"It feels really good, I’d like to know that people would help us if it would happen to us and they did in 2007," said Joshua Lackey.

"We're praying for everyone up there and hope things get better for everyone and life will get better even if you are in a rough patch right now," said Mark Peck.

"I just wanted to do a contribution and do my civic duty," said Cynthia Free.
The list they have comes straight from the EMA office in Lee County for the most needed items.

Enterprise Communications Director Jason Wright says that all the items donated will definitely go to use.

"We want to fill up this whole area but this is what we have on a Friday, but leading into Saturday and Sunday we are looking forward to what we will be seeing for the rest of the weekend," said Wright.

Even though they had a good turn out today.. they still have a lot of room left.

If you would like to drop off items, they will be there Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Laundry Detergent and fabric softener sheets
