Auburn's baseball season ends with loss to Louisville in College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. (WTVY) - The "Cardiac Kids" from Auburn tried one last late rally against Louisville, but the Tigers fell just short losing to the Cardinals 5-3 and were eliminated from the College World Series.

In a game that was resumed after rain postponed it on Tuesday, the Tigers were behind 4-1 when play picked back up.

Auburn would cut into the Cardinals lead with a Conor Davis RBI double, but Louisville would immediately respond to push its lead back up to 5-2.

The rally caps came out in the 9th as Davis delivered his third hit of the day, this time a solo home run to center field which cut the deficit down two.

Auburn had one last chance in the 9th with the tying run at the plate, but Rankin Worley would go down swinging and Auburn would leave Omaha empty handed.

Auburn finishes the 2019 season with a record of 38-28.
