Robin Tyra may be changing jobs, but he is still keeping the same mascot.

Tyra, who led the Abbeville Yellow Jacket football program for the last six seasons, was hired as the Ashford Yellow Jacket football coach Monday night.

Tyra turned the Abbeville program around.

After five straight losing seasons from 2012-2016, the Yellow Jackets have won at least eight games each of the last three seasons.

Tyra takes over for Chris Littleton who left Ashford to take the head coaching job at Florala last month.

After spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach, Dustin Harrison has landed another head coaching gig. This time at Cottonwood.

Harrison comes to Cottonwood after serving as an assistant coach at Dale County the last two seasons. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Houston Academy.

Harrison does have head coaching experience. He was the first football coach for Northside Methodist back in 2014.

He led the Knights for three seasons taking them to the AISA playoffs twice.
