Slocomb's Clay Homes Makes First MLB Start

Slocomb's own Clay Homes made his first big league start, as the Pirates concluded their series with the Dodgers out in Los Angeles.

Homes had his outing cut short, lasting just 2.1 innings while surrendering 4 runs on 5 hits and also gave up 3 walks.

however, his performance was not all doom and gloom as the Wiregrass native had a pair of strikeouts before coming out of the game.

In the first inning, he sat down Enrique Hernandez, and in the second he fanned Joc Pederson.

He also pitched with a lead heading into the bottom of the third inning, the pirates fell 6-4, and we will continue to watch Holmes to see if he returns to the mound more following the All-Star break.
