A Dothan Baseball All-Star team from James Oats Park is now heading to Lumberton, North Carolina to represent the state of Alabama in the 10U Dixie Youth World Series.
The teams leave Thursday and start with game one on Saturday night at 8 pm versus Tennessee. Head Coach Jason Canady talks about how much of an honor to is to wear Alabama on their jerseys this weekend.
“I tell you it is such an honor to be able to represent this city and this state and I cannot think of 12 better guys to represent than these guys. They fight they battle and they just have the best attitudes every time they come out for practice and games whatever I ask them to do and I couldn’t ask for a better group of kids, a better group of parents and better group of coaches that I coach with."
“I feel good about our team they really they don’t back down from a challenge, we have gotten down several times from games and they have come right back, hit other teams in the mouth when they got down, I am confident we are going to go down there and they are going to give it everything they got we going to battle and hope to have a lot of success."
Rain couldn’t stop this team from training and getting extra prepared for one of the biggest days in these young men’s baseball careers.
