Wiregrass open martial arts championship was held today at Enterprise High School. People competed from all age groups. People from all over the southeast came out to this event today to show off their mix martial arts skills. Black belt competitors traveled to the Wiregrass today to take home some hardware.
“We just gave out the adult black belt grand champion; if you win your division as an adult then you get to compete for that. And Miss Juliana Ramos the lady who won it she is from Nashville Tennessee originally from Orlando, Florida she is internationally known as the queen of kicks,” says Lennis Darby.
Martial art is something that does not have an age limit to. Many people do it most of their lives.
“Martial Arts turned me around as a youth, I was going down a very bad path and it put me into contact with some people that I could respect that were following a path of honor and discipline and respect. It changed my path and that in itself is what makes me so passionate about the youth in karate when it is taught correctly. Humility and integrity, respect, self-discipline then that leads that child down a better road.”
