DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — Before the football teams fight for rings on the field, the Wiregrass Area Food Bank will fight hunger for area senior citizens by collecting canned soup donations to benefit the Brown Bag Program.
There is no better way to fight the chill of winter weather than by warming up with a hot bowl of soup. Soup is filling, nutritious, and easy to prepare. That’s why the Food Bank conducts a soup drive at the beginning of every year to benefit the Brown Bag Program, a program that provides supplemental groceries to area senior citizens in need.
The “Souper Bowl” soup drive runs from New Year’s Day until the NFL’s Super Bowl on Feb. 3.
If you would like to help our senior citizens, host a soup drive at your church, business, in your civic group, or at school. Call the Food Bank for more information at 334-794-9775.
