DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - There will be a new name on the ballot for Houston County Schools’ superintendent.
Brandy white, an assistant principal at Webb Elementary announced his intention to run Tuesday afternoon.
White has spent the last several years at Webb elementary, and 10 years before that at Rehobeth High School.
He has a background in construction and is proud to have started a building construction course at Rehobeth.
White thinks he would bring a new mentality to the position.
"Vocational education is very important to me, and I actually have a construction business on the side, so I think I could take some of those ideas and help manage the system better,” said White.
The Houston County Schools superintendent election will be in November of 2020, with a republican primary in March.
