Some viewers initially thought he was saying goodbye, but WTVY Chief Meteorologist David Paul was really saying he's committed to the Wiregrass.

In a Facebook post Monday, WTVY's Chief Meteorologist David Paul announced he will renew his contract with WTVY.

Paul came to WTVY from Louisiana and has covered daily weather and major events like Hurricane Michael.

"We are fortunate to have someone with David’s experience and dedication," says WTVY's General Manager Robby Thomas. "He takes pride in leading a talented team of local meteorologists determined to keep this community prepared for whatever weather comes our way. I look forward to seeing him continue to grow and improve ‘4Warn Weather’ here in the Wiregrass on-air and online for years to come."
