GENEVA, Ala. (WTVY) -- A few residents of Geneva and the surrounding area teamed up to make a difference in one area.
The group cleaned Spring Hill Cemetery of debris from fallen trees and overgrown bushes.
Volunteers cleaning up a Geneva Cemetery
The idea came from Richard Wiggins Jr. who used to clean another cemetery in Geneva by himself.
He asked another for help, and it grew into a larger group than expected to get the job done.
They took on the task as the next generation visiting those they love.
"When you come out here to visit your loved ones, you want to be able to come and see them rest in peace and the graves and everything looking nice not covered up and can't find them,” Arnitra King said. “You just want it to be nice."
The group will also be cleaning up Forest Hill, Live Oak and the Community cemeteries.
