ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) -- Two military members were honored as Veteran of the Year and Active Service Member of the Year Monday in Enterprise.

"It was humbling" said Tammy Richmond.

Richmond and Sam O’Neal Boswell will lead troops Thursday in a procession and parade, the Veterans Parade in Enterprise. They were chosen out of a group of 9-nominees; chosen by past grand marshals.

Bowell was chosen for his work with the Wiregrass Wounded Veterans Association.

"At Rucker I went through M.O.I. class and that helped me in sales I think, and I just like people", said Boswell.

Richmond was selected for her work as an administrator, training future soldiers at Ft. Rucker.

"I enjoy waking up and going to see candidates and A.I.T. soldiers and N.C.O.'s out there running", said Richmond

Both say leading soldiers past other soldiers in the parade, ranks right up there with Boswell’s National V.F.W. Community Service Award and Richmond’s 2 bronze stars. The parade kicks off Thursday starting at 6 pm on Main Street in Enterprise.
