Several blood drives have been canceled in the last few weeks because of COVID-19.

This adds to the shortage we see every year.

Troy University is trying to bridge the gap for this shortage.

They are going forward with their annual blood drive they usually host during Greek Week.

Most students have left Troy, but the university is encouraging students still around campus and community members to still come donate blood.

"People are not going to stop having instances where they need blood so there is always importance to still giving that blood to give back to somebody else," Assistant Director of Student Involvement at Troy University Sadaris Williams.

The university will continue their blood drive tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
