That woman, Krista Kowalsky, went to school in Dothan and her parents still live here. .

Marc Stone told investigators he became confused and something “broke” inside of him. He then drove aimlessly around Alabama for a day before returning to his Huntsville home where he strangled Krista and Zachary Stone.

Their bodies were found on the couple's bed, wrapped in towels. Stone said he out the boy’s head under water to make sure he was dead..

Then, Stone said he napped and watched television, before taking two younger children he chose not to harm to Leeds, Alabama.

After dropping the girls off at his parents’ home, he drove to the Leeds Police Department and confessed.

Stone pleaded not guilty by reason of mental defect. If convicted, he would face the death penalty.

Marc and Krista Kowalsky married about a year after she graduated from Northside Methodist Academy in Dothan.

Her parents are expected to arrive in Huntsville Monday to attend the trial.

Jury selection won't conclude until at least Wednesday, because court proceedings scheduled Tuesday were canceled due to the potential for a snow storm.
