The Salvation Army looking for more bell ringers

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY)- The Salvation Army will be ringing bells at their red kettles through Christmas Eve.

You can become a bell ringer by singing up through the Salvation Army by phone or by stopping in.

Red kettles will be set up at multiple locations in Dothan such as Wiregrass Commons Mall, Walmart, and Hobby Lobby.

The Salvation Army is hoping that by having each red kettle manned with a volunteer, they will be able to bring in more donations.

The Dale County Salvation Army is also in need of bell ringers.

Lt. Austin Sturdivant says "We're always in need for more bell ringers. Last year they had a big upturn right before Christmas time especially at the mall, but with online sales being such a big thing now, it really helps for us to have volunteers to counteract that, to be able to have volunteers to help bring the money in".
