DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- The Haven in Dothan is expanding.
The Haven serves as a place for people suffering from substance abuse to go and get help.
They're serviced through SpectraCare.
The old building has been on John D. Odom road for 55 years.
Monday morning, they broke ground for two new state of the art buildings that are 14,000 square feet.
The more than $1 million project should be done in the next 6 months.
SpectraCare CEO Melissa Kirkland says, "We've probably served tens of thousands of people since the early 70s, and this building has served its purpose but now it is time for newer and better and more innovative facilities to do it in."
The new building will be right down the road from the current one on John D. Odom.
Work has already begun, and once it is complete the old building will be torn down.
