The Dothan Houston County Library System kicked off their summer reading program.

Mayor Mark Saliba was there to meet and greet everyone signing up today.

Those who registered got free prizes and cake.

The summer reading program aims to keep everyone reading while out of school on summer vacation.

Kristin North, The Youth Services Manager says "It is for all ages and we want kids to see parents reading, we want them to see that it's important to them too when a kid sees a parent doing something it shows them that hey this is important so we want them engaging with their children and reading as well".
