Cowarts, Al. (WTVY) - A new development in Cowarts is making a splash. Friday is the first day people were able to cool off at a new splash pad by the town hall.
Cowarts Mayor Randy Rolland says it is a two year project that is paid for 100% by taxpayers money. Rolland hopes it’s a place for the whole family to enjoy.
"I'm really excited because it's normally really hot over here, we needed a place to cool down," said 6th grader Ella.
"I hope we can have some gatherings out here for the community," said Rolland.
There will be an official grand opening ceremony in about four weeks. The splash pad is open starting at 9 a.m.
