The Ark Dothan awarded $1000 surprise grant

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) Giving back to the local agencies that give back. In honor of serving the Wiregrass for 10 years, the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation is surprising area nonprofits with grants!

The first organization to be awarded $1,000 is the Ark Dothan. The ministry’s thrift store was burglarized in early January, when a front window was completely shattered. The Ark will use the money to offset the cost of damage, that way they can continue to get people to transition from hopelessness to success.

“To help people that went through bad situations and hard times,” said Dr.Jeff Peacock, the Executive Director of the Ark Dothan. “Our goal is to see them live those successful productive lives- helping them get a G.E.D, helping them get a driver’s license, helping them find their purpose in life and living out that purpose.”

The Southeast Alabama Community Foundation will continue to award grants for the rest of the year. Keep watching as they celebrate service, by surprising a new Wiregrass nonprofit each month.
