Dothan (WTVY)-- [UPDATE: 11/22/2017 at 5:11:54 PM]
Dothan police have identified the adult victims of the Wednesday morning wreck.

The driver was Jamie Erndorf and her three year old daughter from Midland City.

Also killed was a passenger----Brittany James of Headland.

Three people, including a toddler, were killed Wednesday morning when the van they were riding in crashed into a tree after running off J.B. Chapman Road.

“We’re investigating what contributed to this horrible accident and expect our investigators to be on the scene most of the day,” Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish said.

All three victims—a young girl and two adults---were dead when first responders arrived at the scene in the westernmost fringes of Dothan city limits in Dale County.

“It’s a horrible thing. Not only have these people been lost, their families are going to be destroyed at the holiday season from now on,” Parrish said

J.B. Chapman Road (an extension of Murphy Mill Road) is closed as specialized traffic investigators work to determine what caused the fatal wreck.

Names of those killed are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
