If you are planning to vote in the next primary election – listen up!

Your polling place could be changing.

On Thursday morning, Houston County Commissioners approved a request to temporarily change the polling place from Taylor City Hall.

The building is undergoing construction, so voters will have to cast their ballots at the Taylor Senior Center.

Houston County Probate Judge, Patrick Davenport, said the county is always evaluating the efficiency of the polling places to make it easier for voters.

The Senior Center was the best option because it is close to City Hall and available.

“Those that arrange the activities for the seniors through Taylor Senior Center were gracious enough to ensure that facility would be available for us for those two elections: the primary on March the 3rd and the runoff, March the 31st, said Judge Davenport.

“So, they’re often taking field trips for the seniors to enjoy and for education and they’ve arranged for those days to be days of their field trips so it would be available for voting,” Judge Davenport said.

Judge Davenport also said if you already know you won't be available to vote in the primary on March 3rd, you may want to consider absentee voting.
