Police say 56-year old Susan Thompson Trawick stole over $16,000 from Hidden Lakes Homeowners Association. She served as HOA treasurer.

“We believe the money was stolen between the time she took office last September and August of this year,” Dothan police investigator Scott Spivey told WTVY.

He said it appears Trawick wrote a few checks, but mostly used the HOA’s debit card to make personal purchases at local and online retailers.

The HOA became aware of the missing money after a check Trawick issued to a lawn care service bounced, Spivey said.

Trawick has been placed on administrative leave by the Substance Abuse Partnership, where she has worked many years.

She was released from the Houston County Jail after posting bond.
