HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Holmes County High School student is facing criminal charges after reportedly making a threat to bring a gun to school and shoot people.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, the boy made the threat to a girl who is a student at the school. Her parents notified authorities.

They said upon contact, the boy said he was not the only one that could be involved in the threat, but after an overnight investigation it was found that only one juvenile made a threat.

The student has been suspended from Holmes District Schools and will not be allowed back on campus.

Extra security will be at Holmes County High School Wednesday as a precaution.
