Storm crushes truck and boat under barn
More severe storms moved through the Wiregrass, while the damage was minimal for most, some parts of eastern Geneva County took a significant hit.
It's likely winds as fast at 60 miles per hour caused this damage across the Wiregrass as a tree fell on top of the barn with a truck and boat underneath.
A line of storms moved through Geneva County this morning causing widespread damage.
Multiple reports of trees and power lines down as well as flash flooding.
In Slocomb, the Helms family experienced multiple trees down in their backyard.
Their entire barn collapsed after a tree was blown onto it - crushing the boat and truck underneath.
The Helms have lived in the exact location for 54 years and said they have never experienced damage like this.
"When Hurricane Eloise came through in like 78, 1978 there was a lot of damage but not this much so this really is the worst weather damage we have seen. We are blessed by the lord that it did not hurt us nor our house and we are just very thankful for that," Elaine and Jimmy Helms said.
Tere was no damage to the structure of the home and everyone inside was unharmed.
There are also reports of damage in Houston County in Alabama and Holmes County in Florida.
