Soldier from Daleville among those injured in military accident

Fort Jackson, S.C. (WTVY-- A solider from Daleville is among six injured in an accident that killed two at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Ft. Jackson officials said the accident happened Friday afternoon and involved a military vehicle and a troop formation.

Killed were Pvt. Ethan Shrader, from Prospect, TN and Pvt. Timothy Ashcraft, from Cincinnati, OH.

Among the six injured is Pvt. Emmett Foreman, from Daleville.

Foreman's father, Rev. Mike Foreman, told WTVY said that his son was in critical but stable condition on a ventilator suffering from a ruptured spleen and a cracked/shattered pelvis

Others hurt include Pvt. Hannah New of Cartersville, Georgia; Pvt. Benjamin Key of Livingston, Tennessee; Pvt. Alan Kryszak of Clarksville, Tennessee; Pvt. Cardre Jackson Jr. of Laurel, Maryland; and Pvt. James Foster of Macon, Georgia.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the soldiers we lost today and to the families of the injured, they represent the best of our nation and we will endeavor to support all those affected through this difficult time," said Maj. Gen. Pete Johnson, U.S. Army Training Center and Fort Jackson Commander, in a statement.
