Slocomb senior center still serving clients
"Closed until further notice" that’s what it reads on the doors of the Slocomb Senior Center.
Even though their doors are closed they are still helping their seniors.
SARCOA implemented the plan that seniors will continue to receive meals throughout the week.
The center will either take the meal to their homes or they can pick it up.
"It’s extremely important. Like I said some of these folks, especially with the homebound, we see substandard living conditions. It’s just the only quality food that they get where there is a balanced diet involved and I think it’s that way with all of them. It’s very important,” says Lorri Everett the director of the Slocomb Senior Center.
The senior center will provide the meals Monday through Friday until they feel it’s no longer needed.
