A man running from Georgia State Troopers crashed on the Early County Courthouse lawn.

Corporal Mike Bradshaw with the Georgia State Patrol says they were conducting a license check at state Road 39 and the 62 Bypass. At around 8:00 p.m. (CT) a man sped through.

Bradshaw says they lost sight of the vehicle and contacted the Early County Sheriff's Office.

Bradshaw says they were still looking for the car, when just a few miles away. The man sped through a stop sign and lost control.

That's when his car jumped the curb and nearly crashed into the courthouse.

He suffered minor injuries. Bradshaw says EMT's checked him out on the scene, and he did not need to be transported to the hospital.

We do not know his name, but Bradshaw says the man has been charged with reckless driving and DUI.

He was also wanted out of Muskogee County.
