Silent Heroes of the Wiregrass

Wiregrass Electric and WTVY have joined forces to try to recognize the unsung heroes in our area. WTVY and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is proud to honor F.R.I.E.N.D.S. as Silent Hero of the Wiregrass.

It's an acronym for Families Reaching, Influencing, Educating and Networking for Down Syndrome.

Their mission is to to help people with down syndrome improve their quality of life through advocacy, education, and promote a positive understanding of down syndrome in the Wiregrass area.

Cathy Baxley, of Dothan, nominated this month's winner.
