MARIANNA, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Marianna Police Department says it has caught a man who escaped from the Jackson County Courthouse Tuesday morning.

Police say at the time of his escape, Travis Dickson Wilson was wearing an orange jumpsuit with a long brown blanket wrapped around him. He was last seen in the alley behind the old Marianna Office Supply building, according to police.

Wilson was in court for a sexual battery with use of a deadly weapon charge. He is 36 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

The department says it was notified at 8:30 a.m. that Wilson walked away from the courthouse while in shackles. Multiple agencies joined in the search, including a canine team from the Jackson Correctional Institution.

Canines started a track near the area where Wilson was last seen, and they led police to a house on St. Andrews street. The department says officers found Wilson hiding in the attic of the home.

He was taken into custody without incident at about 10:30 a.m. He was still in his shackles, but he had taken off the orange jumpsuit.

He was charged with escape, and taken to the Jackson County Jail, where he will wait his first appearance.
