DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- Southeast Alabama Medical Center now owns land where a shopping center was supposed to be built.
The hospital bought Dothan Village after foreclosure proceedings were filed against the owner.
The property is next to the Alabama College of Osteophatic Medicine, which is also owned by SAMC.
Dothan Village was announced 10 years ago. The plan included retail shops, restaurants and medical offices, but nothing was ever built.
The hospital says there are no immediate plans for the property.
