Poplar Springs celebrates seniors
The Coronavirus pandemic has turned students senior years upside down, as many anticipated school-sponsored events have been cancelled.
As a Pre-K through 12th grade school, Poplar Springs knows how hard their seniors have worked and doesn't want it to go unnoticed.
As you drive into the school, you'll see the class of 2020, the 30 seniors class photos line the streets.
This is their way to congratulate the seniors as they stick together during these hard times.
The hashtag "together we stand" has also been placed outside the school, school board members, students and families drove by in support for the class of 2020.
"It is extremely important to me that these kids were recognized. But in the interim I wanted them to feel as special as they possibly feel because they have currently missed their prom and we have every plan of making sure all of those events and milestones in life continue to happen, they will happen. They're not cancelled by far they are just postponed temporarily while we work our way through this difficult situation we are all facing," Farica West, Poplar Springs principal said.
Poplar Springs graduation is still on for now and all Holmes County students are scheduled to return to classes starting May 1st.
