UPDATE: Kidnapping victim safe, suspect now in custody

2ND UPDATE:

The manhunt is over for Marcus Roberson, who police say kidnapped Tanesha McLeod from a home in Dothan.

Lt. Doug Magill said an investigation revealed that Roberson kicked in the door of a home on Woods Drive. Once inside, he shot a man police have not yet publicly identified. The victim suffered critical injuries.

Magill believes Roberson then kidnapped Tanesha McLeod, who was inside that home where the shooting happened.

McLeod is said to have freed herself when they stopped for gas. The suspect fled as well, and a search began near 231 and Taylor Road before he was found and taken into custody.

Montgomery and Troy Police, along with the US Marshals, assisted in the case.

UPDATE: According to Dothan Police, Tanesha McLeod has been found in Montgomery. She had suffered only minor injuries.

Police are still searching for Marcus Roberson, who police say kidnapped McLeod from a home in Dothan.

That search is centered around U.S 231 and Taylor Road in Montgomery.

Roberson, with McLeod in tow, is believed to have left the crime scene in a black KIA Rio with Alabama tag number 38HL126.

“We are asking for the public’s assistance with help locating these persons or vehicle. If they are seen, call 911 and advise the location. Do not approach, the suspect is considered armed and dangerous,” Magill said.

Roberson is considered armed and dangerous,and believed to still be in the Montgomery area. if you see him or the vehicle, you are advised to not confront him but instead contact authorities.
