Police: Man uses tree limb to rob store
A man used a small tree limb to hold up a Dothan convenience store late Tuesday night, police claim.
Officers arrested 31-year old Derrick Gibson a few minutes later and charged with him robbery.
“He put that stick (limb) in the pocket of his clothing making it look like he had a gun and then threatened the store clerk,” Dothan Police Lt. Doug Magill told WTVY.
Gibson, Magill said, then ran from the scene though officers apprehended him a short time later.
That holdup occurred at the Circle K store located at the intersection of Ross Clark Circle and Headland Avenue.
Gibson was booked in the Houston County Jail and held on $50,000 bond
