Plan: Northview High will become Dothan High Wolves in school rebrand

Dothan (WTVY)-- Northview High School will be rebranded Dothan High if a plan is approved by school board members.

In August, Northview, as it’s now known, will become the city’s only high school and the current DHS campus will become home to 7 through 9 graders.

A committee made up of students concluded the best name for the merged high schools should retain Dothan High’s heritage. The school opened in 1911.

The new Dothan High will use a Wolf, instead of the current Cougar mascot, and school colors will change to cardinal and black with gold accent.

The current Dothan High will also be also renamed but will still have the word “Dothan” in its title. It will continue to use the Tiger mascot and school colors.

The committee will present the proposals to the school board Monday evening. Members could vote on it immediately.
