Ashford Police Chief Quinton Vann says the 8 year-old child involved in hit by a truck Wednesday has passed away.

Ashford Police Chief Quinton Vann says both young girls remain in the hospital.
The 8 year-old was life-flighted to a hospital Birmingham. The 15-year-old is in a local area hospital's critical care unit, but remains stable.
The Ashford Police Department will continue the investigation with assistance from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Ashford police and Alabama State Troopers are investigating an accident involving two pedestrians.
The accident happened just after school let out at the intersection of Church and Broadway. That's in the center of downtown.
A witness told WTVY that two young girls were hit by a pick-up truck as it was turning.
Police Chief Quinton Vann tells us the two children were walking home from school when it happened.
The driver of the truck appeared to be a teenager.
Vann says the children were taken to an area hospital. One is in critical condition. The other was not critical, but Vann would not give specifics on the child's condition.
No other details have been released at this time.
