DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — A major paving project at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds is finished.
Workers smooth asphalt in the parking area of the National Peanut Festival in this September 9, 2016.
Two years ago heavy rain forced the festival to close for a day, and bus patrons in to the fairgrounds for the rest of the festival.
Festival President Jason Rudd says he doesn't want that to happen again.
The festival board agreed to spend $3-million to pave the 37-acres.
It has provided 3,800 new parking spots.
The festival is November 3rd - 12th.
Tickets go on sale September 1st.
