A shooting in Dothan has left one person wounded in what appeared to be a crime scene spanning several blocks.

Paramedics treated the victim, believed to be a man, on Langley Street at the Fortner Street intersection. A source said he suffered a non-life threatening wound and was taken to a hospital.

The shooting, that one source said appeared to be a possible drive-by, occurred on Fortner Street, just west of South Park Avenue.

Officers also checked a nearby convenience store, presumably searching for either a witness or suspect.

Meanwhile, police investigated a passenger car in the roadway of South Park, about five blocks north of that store. A unknown number of people are being questioned.

“We are still trying to sort things out and will release information as the investigation unfolds,” said Police Lieutenant Scott Owens.
