New playground is on the way at Headland Elementary School

Headland Elementary School is long overdue for a new playground.

The equipment became very unsafe for students to use and through a grant, it was all possible.

Wiregrass RC&D Council awarded the grant to schools who are strapped for funds.

The playground should be up and running by the end of next week but school officials could not confirm a date.
