The City of Dothan officially swore in new leadership Monday night at the Dothan Civic Center.

Mayor Mark Saliba, along with city commissioners, took their official oath of office.

In front of a standing-room only crowd full of dignitaries and supporters, Saliba thanked his family, campaign staff, and friends.

New District 2 City Commissioner Janasky Fleming was also sworn in, as well as Kevin Dorsey (District 1), John Ferguson (District 4), Beth Kenward (District 5), and David Crutchfield (District 6). District 3 Commissioner Albert Kirkland was out of town and previously sworn in.

The commissioners and Saliba say they look forward to getting to work.

"Well, one the first things I want to do is to make sure that everyone is comfortable with the transition because there are 1,200 employees, department heads and staff and I think it's important for them," said Saliba.

Saliba will preside over his first Dothan City Commission meeting as mayor Tuesday morning.
