Calhoun County Sheriff Glenn Kimbrel says the deputy who got shot is in surgery and should be out of surgery Sunday. He got shot right below the knee. He says he is stable.

Officials believe the suspect is the one person found dead. They have not released the name yet and they’re working to find out what started the shooting.

Officials also tell NewsChannel 7 FDLE has taken over as the lead for the investigation and is interviewing the wounded and other witnesses.

Sheriff Kimbrel says the reason for the large gathering is that it was a large, open-air facility instead of somewhere inside and they could fit more people in. He also says they had off-duty deputies working security as well as others.
